When will I receive my package?

We know, we know – you are anxious to brag about your gorgeous new leather accessory. We promise that we are dedicated to getting it to you as soon as possible! Our standard lead time is 7-10 working days. BUT, in most cases, deliveries take 2-4 working days to main centres and 4-5 working days to regional areas. The time to delivery is stock-dependent. Please get in touch with us, and we'll let you know how your order is progressing.

How much does shipping cost?

Good news: Shipping to anywhere in South Africa for all orders above R500 is on us. For smaller orders, the cost per item is R100. International shipping will be calculated based on the country upon checkout.

What type of leather do you use?

Accepted Answer

We honestly love honest leather. Therefore, we are very proud and very picky when it comes to choosing our material. We handpick everything for production to ensure we only use 100% bovine, aniline, full-grain, pull-up leather.‍So, what does this tongue twister mean in plain language?‍ BOVINE simply means that we use cattle hides.‍ ANILINE leather is immersed in a dye bath to colour it fully with a transparent dye. Because the finish is transparent and reveals the natural markings of the leather, only the best quality hides can be used.‍ FULL-GRAIN refers to hides that have not been altered beyond hair removal, as opposed to corrected leather that is sanded, buffed, or snuffed. Consequently, rather than wearing out, it will develop a patina (dark, rustic-looking layer) over time. Full-grain leather retains the natural texture and markings of the original hide, making it much more authentic and good-looking.‍ PULL-UP describes the behaviour of leather treated in such a way with oils, waxes and dyes that the finish becomes lighter in stretched areas. This is considered a mark of high quality.‍ If you were wondering leather or not we use the finest material, we hope this settles the question for you!

Will the product I receive match the photo on the website?

One of the reasons we love leather so much is that every hide is unique. Just like no two people have the same skin, no two cows have either. This means your product will be as exclusive as you are! However, we do try to keep our merchandise as close as possible to the items reflected in our photos in terms of design, but small deviations in texture and colour can be expected and there may be unique, minor scratches or marks on your product.‍Note that our gorgeous sunhats are not made from leather and should therefore look identical as on the photos.

How do I care for my leather?

Fortunately, leather is a very durable material and requires minimal maintenance.   Recommendations:‍ Apply a good quality, natural leather oil once every three months. After applying the oil, polish your fittings with a cotton cloth. Dust regularly with a soft cloth.Caution:‍Avoid prolonged, direct sunlight. Do not clean with water. If you wish to make use of a leather cleaner/conditioner, always test on an inconspicuous spot first.

Do you ship internationally?

We sure do. Tan loves travelling! International shipping rates are automatically calculated at checkout based on your country. Please note that customs duties or import taxes (if applicable) will be for your account.

What if I received a damaged or wrong product?

Accepted Answer

Oh no – that’s not the Tan way! If you receive a damaged or incorrect product, please notify us within 14 days of delivery. We’ll arrange a replacement or refund as quickly as possible. Your satisfaction is non-negotiable.‍ Please note: All return requests must be made within 14 days of delivery. Products must be new, unused, and in original condition to be eligible. Promotional, sample, or custom-made items are not eligible for returns. Once the returned item is received, allow 7 business days for processing.

Can I return or exchange a product?

We offer a 14-day return or exchange policy for unused, undamaged items in their original packaging. Personalised products unfortunately can’t be returned unless there’s a manufacturing defect. (Because your initials or your brand's name are uniquely yours – and we love that for you.)‍Please note: Promotional or sample items are also not eligible for returns. Once the returned item is received, allow 7 business days for processing.

Do Tan Goods' products come with any guarantee?

Yes – all our leather item comes with a lifetime guarantee. If anything happens, simply email a photo of the item to info@tangoods.com, and we’ll get back to you with the next steps. Please take note that our sunhats are not made from leather and are, therefore, excluded from this guarantee.

Do you offer corporate or promotional gift options?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We’re happy to help you make a beautiful impression. We provide anything from small tokens (like keyrings and sunglass holders) to big "wows" like travel or laptop bags. We can also custom-brand or personalise your items according to your requirements. Read more about our gift options. Email us with your needs, and we will provide a quote.‍Please note: Orders are subject to a minimum order quantity. The more you order, the cheaper you pay per unit. All products displayed above or on our website can be manufactured with the branding of your choice, but we do not produce custom products.

Can I brand or personalise your items?

Yes, you can make our products even more unique than they already are. Most of our goods can be personalised with initials, names, or company logos. As a rule, no. However, you can custom-brand or personalise any goods in our wide range.‍We sometimes make exceptions for corporates that order in bulk (100+ products), so let's talk about your custom product ideas.

Do you sell leather hats?

Oh my hat – we're glad you asked. Although we do have a gorgeous range of sunhats, they are not made of leather.
